There has been two cases of coronavirus in Enugu state, the state which happens to be the capital

Of Old eastern region in Nigeria.

Due to the confirmation of this pandemic, the Enugu Government has announced the closure of its borders and markets, Schools,Burials/Funerals & Ceremonies etc

In a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya, it was gathered that the order on closure of all land borders and inter-state transportation will be effected from 6pm on Tuesday, March 31.

However, there are some markets which will be open due to its important to the citizens.

Markets exempted from the closure include “those dealing on food items, water, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and other basic items of daily domestic need who must comply with the standard hygiene protocol as stipulated by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), including frequent hand-washing with soap, use of sanitizer and social distancing.

“All the 17 local government chairmen are hereby directed to ensure strict compliance with the closure of the markets within their respective local government councils,

The state government has directed the security agencies and the State Medical Response Team to enforce all the directives as stated above.”

Recall that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed that Enugu recorded its first cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in an announcement made on Friday night.

Coronavirus has shaken the world as whole, it has brought about fears, hunger and death of the loved ones.

Many countries has recorded a lot of casualties especially in the western world ie the likes of Americans, Asians, Europeans especially countries like Italy and china even though they have sophisticated machineries then to talk about if this deadly virus hits Africa which happens to be among the third world countries. It will be so disastrous if such should happen. We urge the citizens to do the needful and not to depend on the government to do everything for them.

Our lovely country Nigeria will go into recession if the Coronavirus pandemic persists longer than two months.
