We are calling for applications from students enrolled in New Zealand tertiary institutions interested in summer scholarships over the summer of 2021-22.

Bio-Protection Research Centre Summer Scholarships 2021
We have 13 projects available to study insect pests, biological controls, weeds, and plant diseases, at several different universities. They include:
- Science communication
- Traditional Māori food crops
- Natural, native biological controls
- Climate change and weed invasion
- Kauri dieback
- Predicting biodiversity change.
The universities are: Lincoln University, Massey University (Manawatu), University of Canterbury, University of Otago, and Victoria University of Wellington. One project can be done remotely.

Eligibility
Applicants need to fit the following criteria:
- Overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 6.5
- Suitable subjects covered during study
- Suitable work/research experience
- Must currently be enrolled at a New Zealand Tertiary Institute and either be:
- continuing within Bachelor’s degree
- Bachelor’s degree to be followed by Honours
- Bachelor’s degree to be followed by Masters or PhD.
Each scholarship is for a total of $6000 tax-free, payable fortnightly for the duration of the scholarship, with a final payment of $1000 on receipt of the approved student project report.
