Objective/Purpose of Job
- To ensure safe and efficient operations of the central processing facility, gas reconditioning /pressure reduction & metering stations to meet customers’ requirements and business objectives
Duties & Responsibilities
Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down process and utility systems.
- Ensure safe and efficient operations of a central processing facility, gas reconditioning/pressure reduction & metering stations that handles crude oil, gas, and condensate to meet customers’ requirements and business objectives from a remote-control room, where wells and process facility operating parameters and production are monitored, measured, and controlled.
Monitor all operating parameters including but not limited to level, pressure, flowrate, temperature using supervisory control system such as Allen Bradley PLC system, DCS, SCADA and HMI/graphics control/trending of process variables during; black start, start-up, normal operations, monitoring, and controls during start-ups/shutdowns of plant and process equipment.
- Execute the production and routine first line maintenance activities in the oil and gas field and ensure that Wells, facilities maintenance, asset integrity and quality requirements are satisfied.
- Ensure operational controls at the facilities to guarantee and sustain continuous improvement in Safety, Health and Environment performance.
- Responsible for the recording of daily activities while on shift and ensure the Operations Lead is informed of the status of the plant at any given time.
- Ensures the quality of gas export to customers meet with contractual specification.
- Responsible for all control room operations while on shift and ensure the plant is operate within safe operating envelop.
- Carry out revalidation of PTW while on shift.
- Maintain and manage field activities production operations database.
- Ensure that equipment’s /devices are functioning properly and report/log-in all malfunctioning equipment/devices in fault register.
- Responsible for the carrying out of routine maintenance activities on all of the process equipment and documented accordingly.
- Ensuring updated records are kept of all and for all corrective and preventive maintenance done on all process
- equipment and documented accordingly.
- Review job procedures with Operations Supervisor from manufacturer’s operating manual to suit our operation.
- Ensures operations reports are done in an accurate and timely manner.
- Responsible for first line maintenance activities of all valves.
- Supervise and oversee work done by subordinates on and off shift.
- Ensure fault register and by-pass logbook are updated.
- Ensures custody transfer meter is functional and accuracy within the acceptable range.
- Coach and train subordinates and monitor training requirement compliance.
- Perform other duties that may be required from time to time. Job & Main Specifications
- HND or B.Sc. in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical and Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- At least 7 years post NYSC experience in process plant operations in oil/gas production operations, refining, petrochemical or gas processing industry, 3 years of which should be as Senior Operator.
- Working knowledge of oil and gas operations (Well head operations, Well testing, Gas Reconditioning/Pressure Reduction operations, Oil/Gas Process operations, Gas Refrigeration system, glycol systems, compression, Boilers/Heaters, pipelines, and Metering, etc.)
- Must possess ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others in a team.
- Good time management, communication and people skills.
- Must be able to develop written procedures for the O&M of all components used in gas processing facility.
- A good working knowledge/application of computerize maintenance management system (CMMS) for work order processes.
- Must be conversant with PTW System.
- Must be proficient in Allen Bradley Programmable logic controller (PLC), DCS and SCADA system.
- Must be conversant with control room operations
- Must be highly conversant with PTW System.
- Must be certified in First Aid, Pressure Control and the relevant company certification requirement.
- Must demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills; experience in a multi-cultural environment.
- Must have analytical mind and ability to plan, execute, measure, review feedback.
- Must have high degree of technical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, innovative, a proven selfstarter capable of motivating people with a good safety record.
- Must have the ability to remain calm under duress and in emergency situations.
- Must be computer literate with experience working with Microsoft Office packages.
- Complete understanding of all documentations with gas processing facility including: o P & ID (Process Flow Sheets) o Instrumentation Drawings/ Process Flow Diagram (PFD) o Cause and Effects Charts o Isometric piping drawings o Process safety o Operations reports
